Asian LME warehouses experience 100 kmton re-warranting, the largest in ten months

LME inventories in Port Klang, Malaysia, registered a massive re-warranting (metal re-classified from canceled warrants to live stocks) totaling 99,600 mton, the largest amount in ten months. As of the end of February, aluminum load-out queues from LME warehouses in Port Klang were reported to be as long as 229 working days—after aluminum canceled warrants (metal earmarked for warehouse withdrawal) surged at this location by almost 400 kmton in the January–February period.
